As the year comes to end,
(ready or not)
I always look forward to
celebrating New Year’s Eve.

Eric and I met on New Year’s Eve.
Twenty years ago, tonight.

I know, twenty (!!!)

And, of course, he is on call.
(Getting hammered by the E.R. last time I checked.)
Not to worry… We’ll make up for it, later.

It’s late afternoon now, and completely dark.
We spent most of the afternoon without power.
So I dragged out extra candles, just in case.

Seems appropriate to simplify dinner plans for just me and the boys.
I’m making buttermilk pancakes with all the breafast-for-dinner trimmings.

The candles are lit.
Wishing you all a very warm and lovely evening.
Filled with friends and loved ones.
And hope for the coming year.

May you have peace.
May you own your happiness.
