Over the years, in my roles as visual merchandiser, art director and freelance designer, I’ve had a hand in creating many things that I’m proud to call my “work.” However, if I’m going to tell the truth, I like to think of it as getting paid to “play.”
My background (and degree) is in textiles. And that, for as long as I can remember, has always been my constant romance. It’s true. Open my handbag. You won’t find lipstick, you’ll find yarn and fabric swatches.
I downright love what I do.
Life would certainly be a lot less hectic, but not nearly as rewarding, without my terrifically supportive husband and three amazing boys. I love them so. A handsome crew they are, too.
Finally, here’s a few random tidbits you might find interesting.
Things I love: My stack of books beside my bed, on my desk and by the couch. Eating out. Cooking in. Mid-Century Modern. Perfectly ripe avocados. That little smile that says everything. A spotless house. My Mac(s). Wireless technology. Fresh flowers. Fine textiles. Knitting. Late night sandwiches. A toothpaste kiss. Recycling. Haagen Dazs. Walking around barefoot.
Things I hate: Long lines, anywhere. Clutter. Internet lag. Web browser incompatibility. Wearing rigid contact lenses. That clanging sound the spoon makes on the cereal bowl at 5 am. Dust. Raw green peppers. Rush Limbaugh’s political views. On-coming headlight glare. Mosquitoes. Cold feet when I’m trying to fall asleep.
