Let the house building begin.
If this is phase 1, then perhaps I should back up to phase 0.1. We began working with our architect around December of 2012. The concept for the house came together beautifully, and then month after month after month passed while we battled getting approval from the architectural committee and finding the right builder. Oh, and the minor hurdle of getting the budget under control. The house evolved as we went along. (In a good way.)
The process was painfully slow. And at times I thought I would go mad. But all that is over and done now, and we’re looking at some stunning concrete walls now!
The photo above is looking through a bedroom window at the lower level walk-out. We are leaving the exterior walls raw concrete here. I’m in love. Framing begins this week.
We have been moving around the world every 3-4 years for a long time now, and it seems almost impossible that this is going to be our permanent home.
I’ll post more progress as things progress… although more up to date postings happen on my Instagram feed.
One last thing. Thank you to all the listening ears that helped me get through the process, so far! x
