Minimal Lace Accessories

One of the things that most surprised me (and might surprise some of you as well) is that a shawl materialized on my design board this year. I’m not especially known for accessories, and surely not triangular shawls, so I’m delighted to offer that as one option for my newest pattern, Adair. The pattern includes instructions for a shawl, scarf, and wrap.

Also newsworthy, my Lucca scarf/wrap is updated and available as a stand-alone pattern. Originally published in 2017 as part of a kit from mYak, Lucca travels around the world with their trunk show. I borrowed the sample to photograph recently and now it is on my list of things I want to knit again for myself.

Both designs feature a diagonal lace motif. The diagonal is a favorite of mine when it comes to lace patterns; there are so many ways to play with the slope and intersection of lines while keeping it clean and modern.

With the holidays fast approaching, hopefully one of these designs will inspire your next knitting project—whether it’s for gift-giving or for yourself. I’m planning to wear my Adair(s) a lot, even the shawl . . . and maybe even figure out how to properly do that backwards tie it around the front like a bandana thing!

As always, happy knitting.
