There’s only one Sweater Club this year, and it’s a really good one.

From the moment the idea was conceived, I’ve had mYak yarn on the list of possibilities to use for Sweater Club. I can’t really pinpoint why I waited to use it before, only that I’m glad I did, because Tibetan Cloud didn’t exist until now. I am so thrilled to be the first to properly introduce this gorgeous yarn and know you’re going to love it as much as I do.

While we’re on the subject, let’s talk about the featured yarn for this year’s Sweater Club.

Coming exclusively from an ancient bread of domestic sheep that roam freely on the grassland of the Tibetan Plateau, the wool is sheared and collected following the natural life rhythms of the animals and the people who raise them. MYak is committed to respecting and giving their nomadic lifestyle an opportunity to thrive. Tibetan Cloud is the product of using the finest and softest heart of that wool, and adding value to it by having the fiber spun and dyed in Italy, where the wool is processed with the highest traditions of textile excellence. The resulting yarn is light, bouncy and incredibly soft. At 328 yards (300 meters) per 100 gram skein, it’s a worthy investment.

After deciding to use Tibetan Cloud for this year’s Sweater Club, the rest fell perfectly into place—one stunning pullover and one utterly satisfying cardigan.

Registered members of Sweater Club will have access to more photos and all the pattern details; but as I always promise to show everyone what they’re getting in advance, the exclusive patterns that will ship with Sweater Club 2019 are as follows:

Keller

A striking pullover worked in an all-over half-twisted rib stitch, with minimal shaping in order to create an understated and modern silhouette. (This also allows you to adjust the length of the pullover easily to suit your personal taste.)

Keller is worked in pieces from the bottom up and sewn together, then the neckband is worked circularly and turned neatly to the inside.

Pearson

At first glance it’s a classic cardigan, but look again. Pearson’s thoughtful details include oversized front pockets and a luxurious double-thick front/neck band with a perfectly placed single button. The deep raglan sleeves provide plenty of room for a loose-fitting shirt to be worn beneath (without bunching up at the underarm).

Pearson is worked in pieces from the bottom up and sewn together, then the neckband is worked separately and sewn on, keeping the cardigan’s fit thoroughly intact for years to come.
